| GPP Peace and Interfaith Harmony: |
| |
|
|
Global Peace Pioneer’s major mission is to bring peace and create a new generation of peace workers and peace promoters. GPP has been working under the set pattern centered to look peace through various glances. GPP team always tries its best to achieve its mission and work on the activities that may bring peace and interfaith harmony. In connection with religious unrest and intolerance GPP has initiated various activities to address the issues at gross level. GPP has also worked from dawn to dust to empower communities to improve their living condition.
GPP sees Interfaith Harmony and peace as interdependent and interrelated. Nothing is possible with out looking them both together and working equally. World picture after 9/11 is totally changed and has brought a big shift in the issue to bring peace. The unrest and chaos observed among the people and the country has shattered the development process of many countries. Peacebuilding happens when individuals, communities and organizations work to create a culture of peace throughout the year. GPP respects all the days celebrated around the world including the international peace day but it is more important to work and remember peace every day because every day should be peaceful so it will be beautiful. |

Education alone may not get along to transform a civilized society unless we incorporate the Civic Education in our educational Curriculum. Ms. Hina Iqbal - Chairperson, Global Peace Pioneers speaking in a seminar organized by GPP on “importance of Civic Education in Pakistan” on May 24, 2008. The seminar was attended by various participants belonging to campus students, corporate sectors, civil societies and communities in Islamabad.
She said Civic Education is a multiple processes through which children, young and adults acquire knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed for effective democratic citizenship. Civic knowledge and participation are not passed down through the genetic code — they require that each generation of students learn civic facts, explore democratic ideals and connect such concepts to the responsibility of citizenship. |
