Islamabad September 21st, 2014: Global Peace Pioneers-GPP® observed the “International Peace day” on “We all have a right to Peace”. This year GPP has marked its contribution in the celebrations of the Day by providing relief Package to the flood Victims of Christian and Muslim community at Khana-Dak,Christian Colony Islamabad. Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh attended the event as Chief Guest along with the representatives of multi faiths, youth and various organizations.

Event was formally started with Peace Prayer. All the guests/participants recited the peace prayer for the security and safety of the Pakistan and the whole world’s prosperity, unity and interfaith harmony. Peace day was dedicated to all those innocent people who suffered with the incidents of violence, intolerance and killings and lost their lives while trying to succor communities in distress around the world. The Project Officer- Peace building department of GPP passed gramercy to all the Guests, Participants, Flood victims, media representatives and especially to the Chief Guest for showing solidarity to the flood victims.

In his opening remarks by Barrister Abid Sheikh – MD Bait-ul-Mal Pakistan, he added that it’s time to show our harmony towards people suffered in flood and he appreciated GPP for its efforts. He encouraged the community members to share their problems with him and ensured to sort out their problems.

In the message of Chairman Global Peace Pioneers-GPP, he directed that GPP is a Relief & Development organization focusing on peaceful cooperation and interfaith harmony in the country. GPP has marked its contribution by celebrating the International Peace Day where flood victims have been provided the relief packages.

Chairman GPP Mr. Junaid Elahi asserted that our country is facing great problems and helping the affectees in this hour of need is the collective responsibility of the government, political parties and all other sections of the society. He alleged that it is not possible for government to adjust and provide basic amenities to affectees as they are quite a large in number, so we should all realize our national responsibility and help them according to our available resources.

This is the time to call for actions, who are devoted to a vision of hope, togetherness, interfaith cooperation, equality, enduring peace, justice and to end violence to promote culture of peace. I salute to all of you that on this Peace Call, you came here and showed that we are committed and stand for peace.

Peace Day is not just a day for celebration; rather it’s more than a commitment towards our responsibility as an individual, as a nation. “He underscored”. We should recommit our efforts towards the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the building of lasting peace,” he stressed It’s not too late to call for action on Peace, Act Peace and spread Peace, and Imagine Peace, “ he summed.”

He closed his remarks with the quote “Actions speaks louder than words”.

The president Christian community Mr. Faqeer Maseeh and Representative of Muslim community Mr. Sohail then expressed their gratitude towards GPP for their efforts. The session ended with National Anthem and national songs presented by affected children after which Chief guest visited art gallery maintained by victims children and venue of distribution.
